Muziek, DocumentaireIn 1982 had het Britse Dire Straits de plaat Love Over Gold uitgebracht, voor hen op dat moment het meest succesvolle album. In de jaren daarna toerde de band over de gehele wereld. Een van de optredens was op 23 juli 1983 in een uitverkochte Hammersmith Odeon in Londen. Dat concert werd vastgelegd op film en audiotape en later uitgebracht als Alchemy Live op video, dubbelelpee en dubbel-CD.
